Man in custody after police chase

A Karuah man has been charged with multiple offences including pursuit, car crash, weapon and parole violation following a chase from Toronto to Teralba yesterday.

The 34-year-old was allegedly seen smashing the window of a brown Ford territory in Victory Parade before police sighted it on the the Five Islands bridge,

Officers tried to stop it, but the car evaded them before crossing to the wrong side of the road and crashing into several vehicles.

The man fled the scene but returned  a short time later and gave himself up.

He’s been charged in relation to a pervious incident at Maitland several days ago, as well as driving while disqualified, breaking parole and driving and weapons offences.

He’s in custody to appear in Toronto Court.
