Hunter to get new police officers

The Hunter area will get seven new police officers following this morning’s passing out of class 361 in Goulburn.

158 new probationary constables have graduated and out of them the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens-Hunter and Newcastle city police districts will get one new officer each.

Lake Macquarie police district has scored four new officers.

Recruits will report to their stations for work from next Monday and then complete 12-months’ on-the-job training and study by distance education with Charles Sturt University.
