A teenager has been refused bail following an aggravated break in at Nelson Bay.
In the early hours of yesterday morning police patrolling Bagnalls Bay Road in Corlette attempted to stop a Hyundai i30 which had been identified as one of two cars stolen from a home in Nelson Bay.
The vehicle fled and evaded police but was found a short time later crashed on the side of Sandy Point road.
Police arrested the sole occupant, a 16 – year – old boy at the scene.
He was taken to Maitland Police Station and charged with raft of offences including aggravated break, enter and steal and possession of a prohibited drug.
Police are appealing to the public for information regarding the second vehicle – a black Hyundai i30 with NSW registration – IB 55 99
