UPDATE: Four youths arrested in Hillsborough after early morning chase

LATEST:

The Police Dog Unit tracked down three people who were hiding under a house at Hillsborough in a bid to get away from police this morning.

At about 5:20am Lake Macquarie Police noticed a stolen vehicle speeding through Charlestown – they pursued the vehicle until it was deemed too dangerous and later found the vehicle on Hillsborough Road.

The four people who were in the car got out and ran – the driver, who wasn’t old enough to even hold a drivers licence, was arrested a short distance away.

Police Dog Xtra was brought in to help and tracked down the three remaining offenders who were hiding under a house on Higham Road.

Police say the car they saw speeding was one of two that were stolen in Lambton overnight – anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.

The police dog bailed up three of the youths who were trying to hide under a house at Hillsborough on Higham Road.
