$1 Million Dollar Reward to help solve Lake Macquarie Cold Cases

Robyn Hickie (L) and Amanda Robinson (R) both disappeared in April 1979.

NSW Police are offering a combined $2 million in rewards for anyone with information which could help solve the disappearance of two Lake Macquarie teens in 1979.

Strike Force Arapaima was established in 2019 to re-examine the unsolved disappearance and suspected murders of 18-year-old Robyn Hickie and 14-year-old Amanda Robinson.

Now, a $1 million reward is on offer for anyone who can help solve either case with additional information.

Robyn Hickie left home around 7:15pm on Saturday April 7, 1979 and was last seen at a bus stop on the Pacific Highway at Belmont North.

A fortnight later on April 21, 1979, Amanda Robinson was seen for the last time on Lake Road at Swansea after leaving a dance at her high school in Gateshead.

Despite extensive investigations at the time and in the years since, no trace of either girl has been found.

A Coronial Inquest into their disappearances found the pair were deceased most likely as a result of foul play.

As investigations continue, police are renewing their appeal to the community to come forward with any information which could help solve the teenagers’ disappearances.

Strike Force Arapaima is also investigating the abduction of Gordana Kotevski from Charlestown in 1994.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
