Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Newcastle West last month.
A 21-year-old woman was seriously assaulted when she was reportedly attacked near the intersection of Denison and Parry Streets between 11pm and midnight on the 20th of January.
She was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Witnesses told police a man was responsible but so far they’ve been unable to track him down.
They’re hoping to speak to a man described as having long hair, who was wearing a white shirt with a cross on it on the night.
