Man Arrested Over Toddler Death at Tarro

A man is set to be charged with murder, after a toddler died in suspicious circumstances at Tarro last month.

Paramedics were called to Burgess Parade on June 19, after a 20-month-old girl went into cardiac arrest.

She was taken to the John Hunter Hospital, but sadly she couldn’t be revived.

It’s understood she also suffered multiple internal injuries, as well as injuries to her torso and head.

Following extensive investigations, police arrested a 26-year-old man at Tanilba Bay early this morning.

Police say he was in a de facto relationship with the girl’s mother, and had been living with them for a short time.

He’s been taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station, where he’s set to be charged later today.
