Police are working to identify a man, after they discovered a body in bushland at Charlestown.
They found the man near a tree at about 1:15pm on Tuesday, just off Charlestown Road.
Officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District are now investigating and looking for information about the man’s identity.
It’s believed his homeless and is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 50s and around 162cm tall.
He was wearing a black baseball cap, black hoodie, tight black skinny jeans and skate shoes.
Police say he was known to frequent the Warners Bay, Charlestown, Cardiff and Kotara South areas and was usually drinking coffee and seen wearing plastic bags on the inside of his shoes.
