Body Found After Raymond Terrace House Fire

A house fire at Raymond Terrace is now being treated as suspicious, after fire crews discovered a body inside the property.

Emergency services were called to the Rosemount Drive home at 12:30am, following reports of an explosion.

They managed to put out the blaze but then found a body inside which is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has now been set up.

Meanwhile, police are looking into a serious crash on the Pacific Highway just north of Bulahdelah, which they say could be linked to the incident.

A Nissan X-Trial reportedly collided with a truck around 1:20am and a man in his 60s was taken to the John Hunter Hospital under police guard.

He suffered serious injuries while the truck driver was unharmed.

Anyone with information about either of these incidents should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
