A P-plate driver was allegedly caught travelling close to 100km/h over the speed limit on the Pacific Highway at Raymond Terrace yesterday morning.
Police say they caught the 18-year-old male driving a utility at high speed at about 10:30am.
A LIDAR check reportedly revealed the vehicle was being driven at 209km/h in a 110km/h zone.
A short time later, the driver was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace police station where he charged with reckless driving, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km and not displaying his p-plates correctly.
His licence was also suspended on the spot.
He’s been granted conditional bail and will front court again on April, 18.
