A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage boy he was caring for in the Hunter last year.
The 34-year-old was taken into custody at 7pm last night following extensive investigations.
According to officers, the alleged offences took place between January and October, 2017 when the boy was in the man’s care.
He was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault – victim under authority, and attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child
It’s believed the boy is no longer living with the man.
The alleged offender was refused bail and will front court today.
