Visit Grossmann & Brough Houses, Church St Maitland, Sunday 12th November. Just a short stroll from Maitland Railway station, this National Trust property features two mirror-image houses built in 1870 by successful business partners.
On display throughout Grossmann House Museum is a collection of antique and modern quilts and bedspreads – some very ornate and others reflective of the handcraft of the times.
Guided Tours of Grossmann commence at 10:30am and finish at 3pm. Bookings on Eventbrite are recommended but casual entries are also welcome. $12 Adult, $10 concession, Family $34, Trust members & children under 5 free.
In Brough House, visit the Fibre-makers Space, the Maitland Regional Museum and the Museum of History & Clothing which has a fabulous exhibition of wedding dresses. Home-made refreshments, tea, coffee & soft drinks at family-friendly prices available seated in the garden.
