Uniting Starrett Lodge will host a summer fete on Saturday, 25 November 2023, 10:00-2:00, located at 35 Louisiana Rd Hamlyn Terrace, NSW 2259. Events include market stalls selling homemade products, Christmas gifts, craft and more. Entertainment provided by ‘Brassick Band’ and piano player Dorian Thorpe from ‘Bathtub Gin Orchestra’. A cash BBQ will be served by volunteers, along with popcorn and homemade baked goodies for purchase. Other entertainment includes kids jumping castle, lawn games, petting zoo and photo booth. There will be a cash only raffle and silent auction; donated items include spa package, dinner for two, themed baskets, paintings from local artists, and much more. Over $1,500 worth of items to win.

All proceeds from fete will go towards Starrett Lodge aged care resident bucket list program. The bucket list program provides activities to aged care residents that they may otherwise not be able to provide financially on their own, such as deep sea fishing, going to a concert, attending races and high teas, going to the zoo/aquarium, going for a joy ride, or simply a spa day. Some highlights recently; 81 year old man went to Bathurst to watch races, and a 74 year old man attended Paul McCartney concert in Newcastle. The bucket list program has continued success thanks to annual fundraisers such as the fete. Community members are encouraged to attend a fun day out and bring their gold coins and notes to support this good cause.
