Open on Sunday 10th September, Grossmann House museum tours now feature a brand-new exhibition in our Costume Display Room.
We have brought out our wonderful collection of quilts and bedspreads. These are displayed in our show-cases but also throughout the house. Included is the well-known ‘Moxey quilt’ featuring hand stitched appliqué and with names and dates embroidered on it. Other exhibits show skills such as hand quilting, hand-made lace and an array of bright colours and fabrics. There are also a number of modern quilts for comparison and contrast.
Tours commence at 10:30am and finish at 3pm. Bookings on Eventbrite are recommended but casual entries are also welcome. $12 Adult, $10 concession, Trust members & children under 5 free.
While on site, visit our Fibre-makers Space, the Maitland Regional Museum and the Museum of History & Clothing in Brough House. Home-made nibbles, tea, coffee & soft drinks at family-friendly prices available seated in the garden.
