Chalk the Walk is an award-winning street art event that is accessible for all abilities and fun for all ages. Amazing 3D illusions are created by award-winning artists who come out of their studios and use the concrete as their canvas.
Watch the artists at work in a mind-bending live art performance or become part of the illusion, posing for photos in the final artworks. Visitors are encouraged to explore the free walking trail taking in the different 3D artworks from our talented artists, while having a bit of fun and becoming part of the art.
The artistic team will be producing artworks from Monday 18th – Saturday 23rd September and visitors can explore the art trail from the 23rd September – 1st October.
This year you can also get chalky! On Saturday 23rd September we are inviting local and emerging Artists to Chalk the Walk in our Pavement Art Competition. Dads and daughters, moms and sons and brothers and sisters can join in the fun in our Family Chalking Competition. Lots of great prizes up for grabs on this day!
New to the city? You can explore the art trail and the CBD with Newy Rides guided Chalk the Walk Bike Tours on 23/24 September. Get some fresh air, see the artworks and a professional photographer will ride along to help you capture that magic moment!
