A teenager has been hit by a motor vehicle at Belmont this afternoon.
NSW Ambulance say they received a call for assistance at about 3:20 and are currently on scene, near Belmont High School.
The teenager was transported to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition, where he is being treated for lower leg injuries.
It caused significant traffic delays northbound with one of two lanes closed, but the site was cleared around 4:15.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
