With the first round of COVID-19 restrictions set to ease on Monday, walk-in vaccination clinics are popping up across the Hunter.

Maitland locals still looking to get vaccinated against COVID-19 will be able to access a Pfizer clinic this weekend.

The clinic will operate at East Maitland Community Health Centre on Stronach Avenue on Saturday October 9th and Sunday October 10th from 10am to 3pm.

Priority will be given to vulnerable residents including those in social housing, experiencing homelessness, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and those with a disability or significant health issues.

Cessnock residents will also have access to a similar hub on Friday October 8th after the success of their first walk-in clinic last weekend.

The Pfizer hub will operate from Finding Yellow, on Station Street, between 10am and 4pm.

There’s no need to register but you can speed up your visit by registering via the NSW Health vaccination portal.

Maitland MP Jenny Aitchison says with opening up just around the corner, now more than ever we need to get everyone vaccinated.

“I am so pleased that my constant representations to the Minister and NSW Health have finally been answered,” the MP said.

“A walk-in clinic over the weekend will further increase our local vaccination rates.”
