Two domestic violence incidents in Lake Macquarie on the eve of White Ribbon Day


Police officers were assaulted, a women’s been severely injured and two men will front court today after separate domestic violence incidents in Lake Macquarie overnight.

The first happened around 10:30pm inside a Nords Wharf home, a 32-year-old man has been charged after assaulting officers and preventing police from assisting his partner.

No one was severely injured at the home on Government Road, the man is fronting a Toronto court today.

Later in the night, just after midnight, Lake Macquarie police say they were called to a house in Cardiff, a domestic turned violent.

A 43-year-old man was arrested and is facing grievous bodily harm charges in a Toronto court today as well.

Authorities didn’t reveal any other information of the domestic incident at the home on Lachlan road.

This Friday is White Ribbon Day, a nationwide initiative to raise awareness and support for victims of domestic violence.

Men and boys have been invited to make a stand against violence against women in household across Australia.
