17-year-old Aleyna FitzGerald from Thornton (left) has been crowned Australia’s Next Top Model.
From Thornton to New York, Aleyna FitzGerald says she won’t let the pressures of the fashion world change her after she became Australia’s Next Top Model on Tuesday night.
The 17-year-old is following in fellow Novacastrian, Jennifer Hawkins, footsteps in hoping to become the face of Australian modeling.
The former St Marys Maitland student wowed judges and audiences from the first episode.
She was awarded 10 out of 10 for the first challenge where the models were required to showcase their runway skills.
Aleyna was also the first contestant of the series to achieve three 10 out of 10 scores for a photo shoot, when she had to pose in ice cold water with a fishing rod (check out the NEWFM facebook page for that snap)
Aleyna had reportedly never modeled before the show, but received a 12-month modelling contract with Priscilla’s Model Management for her win and will feature in an eight-page editorial spread for fashion magazine Elle Australia.
She was also awarded a $20,000 trip to New York for taking out the competition.
